Prime Minister has approved an investment decision of Thai Nguyen Cement Project, Vietnam Industrial Construction Corporation (under Ministry of Industry and Trade) is a sponsor Corporation and main investor for this project, Thai Nguyen Cement Project was inaugurated on 25 December 2009.

Capital investment total for Thai Nguyen Cement project is VND 3,500 billion: consisting of main Plant site with capacity of 1.51 million tons of cement/year in Thai Nguyen province. Cement production technology, equipment layout is applied to the latest technology of European Union (France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland). Cement Mill stage is installed Horomill Mill Machine – technology copyright by Fives.FCB (France) – aiming at reduced, saved 30% electrical consumption in comparison with traditional Mill Machine.

Quang Son Cement product is consisting of PCB30, PCB40, PC40, PC50 and clinker PC50 conforming to International and Vietnam Standards. From 2009 until now, advantages of using the world leading production technology, Quang Son cement has contributed product to build up many big construction projects such as: hydroelectricity dams, industrial and transportation, bridge, urban area and buildings throughout the North in Vietnam

Timelines of Quang Son Cement Development

- On 8 February 2002, Prime Minister has approved Decision No. 140/TTg of Thai Nguyen Cement project investment for Vietnam Industrial Construction Corporation. Project located at Quang Son commune, Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province. The plant production line is applied to the latest and modern technology in the world, capacity is 4,000 tons clinker/day or approximately 1.51 million tons of cement/year.

- On 1 April 2006, Vietnam Industrial Construction Corporation held an opening ceremony

- 2 November 2009, production line of Thai Nguyen Cement plant project has officially started its production operation.

- 14 December 2009, product of Thai Nguyen cement (Quang Son Cement brand) has officially started its business in Vietnam market.

- 25 December 2009, Thai Nguyen cement project has officially inaugurated and take into operation.

- 1 July 2011, Quang Son Cement Company has officially established from Thai Nguyen Cement project.

- Products of Quang Son Cement consists mixed Portland cement PCB30, PCB40, PC40, PC50, clinker PC50… and other specialized cement.
